Current travel situation

All travel to and from countries outside the European space is prohibited, unless there are pressing grounds for travel. Travel to and from countries within the European space is strongly discouraged. If you want to enter France from a Non-EEA country, you may only be able to do so if you meet the exception criteria as listed on the exempted travel certificate and if you have a vital reason.

Before starting your journey you you must present:

  • An exempted international travel certificate for travel to France

  • A sworn declaration

  • Individuals aged 11 years old or older are obliged to present negative PCR test results not older than 72 hours before boarding.

Are there any travel restrictions on the students’ country of origin?

As an international student or researcher coming to France from a Non-EU country, you are required to present a valid reason and provide prior boarding the following information:

  • Negative PCR test not older than 72 hours.

  • A sworn declaration certifying that the traveller does not show signs of Covid-19 and has not met anyone with Covid-19 in the last 14 days. This declaration also certifies that the traveller undertakes to respect isolation for 7 days after arrival and to carry out a virological test "RT-PCR COVID" at the end of the isolation period.

  • An exempted international travel certificate mentioning the reason for travel.

  • One or more documents justifying the reason for travel.

In the travel certificate there are certain vital reasons listed. Among them are also international students coming to France for a second academic semester in an institution of higher education and researchers invited by a laboratory where physical presence is required. Moreover, students who are learning French in a training center “Qualiate FLE” holding a long stay visa are allowed to enter France.
